Biblical legends, new philosophies and miracles

Eph.6:12 states: “…our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Although the Biblical narrative within both the Old and New Testaments is often so subtle to readers that both the subject and direction of the scripture (involved) Is completely overlooked or seen as irrelevant, the Biblical narrative of Jesus as the counselor continues to increase in importance the closer we get to the end time; which (not to sound fanatical)I believe is soon!!

The legends of the New Testament might not be as long standing and dramatic as the Old Testament; nor are their philosophic views but the disciples, their view of life and the miracles (they performed) which were in abundance at every turn; from Jesus turning water into wine, walking on water, raising Lazarus to life, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and Paul’s Damascus road experience were a total “game changer”; especially in the religious area of these mighty men of Judaism which up until now they had only believed in the virtue of simple, clean living and living as best they could. There was no concept of everlasting or eternal life or the resurrection of the dead. The message of Jesus and His disciples were as dramatic and world changing as Joshua and Caleb hailing to the Israelites that that there were Giants (or Nephilim) in the land of Canaan which made Joshua and Caleb appear as grasshoppers to the Canaanites.

The stories and legends of these disciples were bold and courageous. On occasion these disciples were even jailed but God’s mighty Angels comforted them and “freed” them from their chains.

Legends were everywhere and a young man (which was becoming a legend all His own) with a brand new philosophy was drawing thousands of  followers to Him promising them everlasting life by simply repentance of sin and following Him. This new philosophy was nearly unbelievable.  Everywhere this Jesus went He performed new wonders and miracles. Theses disciples (as He called them) referred to Him as the Christ but He referred to Himself as the Son of God and Son of Man.

In essence He was unlike any man the world had ever known!

He didn’t just talk about things; He actually did things that made a genuine difference. He touched people and they were healed. He made them see, made them walk and gave them a reason for living. He provided food for them and gave them hope in the midst of dismay.

As contemporary disciples of Jesus, we have been asked to march into the land of Canaan and there have been huge giants spotted in the land but none-the-less, God has commanded us to take possession and destroy everything; Giants and all.

All that is needed is obedience and faith

It is a difficult task but it can be done
